Ideally, you would test your site on different browsers and platforms, but at this stage in your webmaster career that's not required. But it is a good idea to have someone else run your site. Resist the urge to explain to them where everything is and how it works. Duct tape (applied to your mouth) will help, as it can be very difficult to watch someone unfamiliar with your site fumble through your carefully planned navigation. But it can be very useful as well. Remember the site is for the user, not for you. Watch where they spend the most time, what they miss, listen to their comments and complaints, then make any necessary changes.
