The other trick involves an extra step. You need
to create a graphic file in an image-editing program
that will serve as a spacer. If you don't have such a
program, Microsoft Paint will do. Create a file 10 pixels high by 10 pixels wide and fill it with white. Then save it as a ".gif" file. It doesn't matter what you name it or where you save it. But remember the name and where it is.

Now end a paragraph with a <BR>, insert your spacer graphic, then another <BR>. To vary the amount of space between paragraphs, click on the spacer graphic and drag the 'handles' until it's the size you want. Or you can right-click it and change its size from the "Picture Properties" menu.
