The Infant Safe Sleep Work Group concluded the 2004 session with a call for educational materials on a safe infant sleep environment. By late 2006, Tomorrow's Child had developed the Infant Safe Sleep Community Toolkit, containing a variety of resources to be used in implementing an Infant Safe Sleep Program. The next step for MDCH was the Infant Safe Sleep Hospital Project. Its goal was to reduce preventable infant deaths by teaching anyone caring for infants - including both health care professionals and parents - about ALL aspects of a safe sleep environment.
