A septic workup and antibiotic therapy may be initiated solely on the basis of these factors, even in the absence of clinical signs of sepsis. The expected bacteria in this scenario are: group B Strep (50-60%) gram-negative enteric, esp. E.coli (15-20%) Listeria (5-10%) Enterococcus and other Strep (5-10%)
