The first design principle is proximity. This
means grouping related items together on the page,
moving them physically close to each other so the related items are seen as one cohesive group.
To achieve this, avoid having too many separate elements on a page. If items are intellectually related, move them together; if they are not related, move them apart. And try hard not to stick things in the corners or the middle.
The basic purpose behind proximity is to organize information. If the information on your page is organized, it is more likely to be read and remembered. And the organization also creates more appealing "white space".
