Anyone can construct a web page. Writing
the code is easy. And anyone can make an ugly web
page. In fact, lots of people do. But very few people intentionally make ugly web pages. Rather they are ignorant of basic design principles, principles that are the basis for every professionally designed piece anywhere, on screen or in print.
Now, design is like fashion - very personal, very much "in the eye of the viewer". And while there are no absolute wrong design decisions, adhering to the following principles will give you a web site that is clean, sharp and professional looking every time. Even if you deviate from these principles, doing so on purpose will give you a better looking page than if you were completely unaware of them.
